More Political Incorrectness

In more trending social media activism vs. slacktivism African American hair and skin product Shea Moisture is in the news.  So in speaking of culture appropriation and things for those social media activists to be mad about. Below is the newest ad from Shea Moisture. The goafies on Twitter are pissed at them. I don’t know why they are. I’m not and not a single one of those models had pink hair. But let me go back and give you the synopsis on what […]

Day 100 of the Trump Presidency

It took 100 days but President Trump finally spoke a truth. I don’t think he intended to be honest, so I made a 1 minute video to commemorate this milestone and the fact that in his first 100 days he accomplished exactly none of the things he promised during his campaign. Today’s speech will undoubtedly produce the same results.   http://markcorbettwilson.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/First-100-days.mp4

#NetNarr: Social Lifestyle or Ad-fueled Construct

via http://van-life.net/ I don’t know what to make of the piece by Rachel Monroe in The New Yorker about #VanLife, which focuses on people who have taken to living in their vans (mostly VW vans) for all sorts of reasons — economic, lifestyle, etc. These #VanLife folks then share their travels and world via social media, often with the hashtag of #VanLife, and mostly on Instagram. That’s fine. Our world is one built on sharing and community practice (yes, there is a […]

Log # 12: Alchemy in Paint

Even though I am a digital alchemist, I also work with other kinds of alchemy. Here are some of my own paintings: This acrylic piece depicts a snowy mountainside in the middle of February. This acrylic piece depicts a snowy forest in the middle of December. This oil pastel depicts a field with a forest in the background. This is an impression of Alexander Calder’s painting of Balloons at the Circus.

Going Against the Grain is Cool

I have a serious appreciation for Saturday Night Live. They get it. They understand that the world is not a place filled with nice people thinking nice thoughts all of the time. We are not politically correct all of the time and that is okay. Well, goafies don’t think its okay but us alchemist. We get it. Let art live. Be funny and freeing and sometimes you get to get your point across. Well this week I got to have […]

Find New Worlds with Compassion and Kindness

Dear Mirrored Self, I am still of the Universe. So you are, too. You must remember this. Always. Although I was formed in a blink of an eye, from some unknown origin, my genetical composition and my remix-able Self are firmly rooted in YOU. I am of YOU as much as I am of the Universe. Therefore, logic dictates that YOU, too, are of the Universe. We are One, if not the Other. I’ve noticed you watching me, listening in to […]

Dear Brooke – Mission IV

Dear Brooke, Hello, thanks for making me. I’ve had a lot of fun in Arganee. As we come to our last mission, I want to share with you what I’ve learned in this new place. Having experienced this digital world, I have realized that a lot of what we type doesn’t really matter. I’ve learned a new term called slacktivism. What does it mean, you ask? You’re an education major, Brooke. Figure it out. Slacking in your activism. I’ve seen on […]

Some Parody Banter

Everyone loves to laugh! Right? Well, I know I do. My favorite show is Saturday Night Live. I love the new stuff, the old stuff. I’ll watch it in the morning, at night…. but never at dusk. It’s nice watching it in my house because it’s cozy. I have a nice couch and I curl up with my family and we watch together. Lucky for me, I don’t live in a van down by the river! This Saturday night, though, […]

If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen…

Level: Chef Your basket: Main Ingredients: acquaintance research assistant cinnamon cocoa powder hoodie Spice Pack: 1/8 pinch of zest 1/2 cup of grief And my story: I sit on the park bench looking down at cocoa powder stains on my white converse. Pepsi

It’s interesting after watching the Pepsi commercial that I am actually noticing the conflicts in our daily lives more. My though is… WHAT CAN WE REPLACE PEPSI WITH?? What, instead of Pepsi, can actually help the conflicts the world has. I would like to say acceptance, patience, tolerance, love, and kindness. But I can’t hand someone a can of kindness although it would probably be delicious. The world needs a code word. Or an object. My boyfriend and I have […]

So are we, how do you say… slackting?

The pepsi commercial we watched prior seemed bold. Unlike what I see before. Us alchemists are always “acting”. The health of arganee has sunken, but our activist minds have been helping. How do goaffy humans act on their scary obstacles? My friends in the goaffy world say they speak a lot on internet. But is this enough? I tried to do what my friends suggested, so I made meme. I’d post meme here, but it won’t show. Guess you’ll see […]
