The NetNarr Field Guide: A Journal Worth Exploring

Early on, I was pretty active in the Networked Narratives course as an open online participant, as a sort of satellite with a few others to the actual university course being taught by Alan Levine and Mia Zamora. My comic strip alter-egos — The Internet Kid and Horse with No Name — were also part of the Twitter conversations and activities. At some point, I admittedly lost track in a peripheral way (this is the beauty of RSS feeds — […]

[disconnect from server #netnarr ? Y/N]

Self-assessment: It’s the end of Network Narratives class. It was possibly one of the most interesting classes that I had a chance to participate in. Originally pitched as a follow-up to Electronic Literature class —which was also quite interesting in its own right, I can safely say that Network Narrative exceeded my expectations. The beginning of the class was focused solely on “the darkness” in social media. Frankly, I had some concerns during the first couple of weeks or so […]

Self_ assessment

I am a special education and English major, and I needed a class to take for the semester, so I was introduced to NetNarr. I took the class and the first two days of class was hard. I was disturbed because I felt like this class wasn’t for me and I don’t speak the language they were speaking. I didn’t come into the class with any expectation, all I wanted to do is pass another class and get a good […]

It’s Been Real…Or Has It???

Featured Image credits to Serkan for making such a cool custom gif! Hey~ So, I made it to the end of the semester. More, I somehow made it to the end of my graduate program!!!! I’m going to have my M.A. in like two weeks??? I mean, I have to wait for the actual degree to be mailed to me but the ceremony of it all is happening in two weeks!!!! It has not exactly been smooth sailing. But, I managed not […]

Self-Assessment 2019

This semester has been quiiiiite an interesting one, haha. I started off not even realizing I was taking Netnarr again and ended with a amalgamative journal entry about fandom and K-pop while talking to myself. We’ve… come a long way, huh. Regarding new skills, I think this semester I’m most proud of the fact I got my bot, @fab_euphie, working. She ain’t perfect, but she’s functional, and boy if that ain’t the mood of the year. Anyway kudos to Kelli […]

Culmination of my Experience on Networked Narratives (Self-assessment on The Class)

        My class of Networked Narratives, with Professors Mia Zamora and Alana Levine, has been one of interesting ongoing learning within digital spaces. I can share that my accomplishments and performance within the class were some that provided me with a certain experience, which affected what I enjoyed most, and what I learned in relation to the light and darkness of the internet, and what I took away from it. To put it in simpler words, this […]

#Netnarr I Bid You Adieu

I cannot believe that our self-assessment narrative is here already and that I just submitted my final project for our fieldguide! I feel like it was yesterday that we were in that tiny room with barely any windows and no natural light talking about our thoughts of the internet! I remember thinking "It's just like Alice in Wonderland!" and attempting my best illustration of her falling down the rabbit hole, hence the name of my blog, and all that would […]

Saying Goodbye

This class has been a true journey for me just like I named my blog a travelers journey. I felt like I traveled through so many different parts of the world with this class and it was nothing like I expected. I mean I knew I would be confused on many different levels because things like this has never seemed to peak my interest ever. I did enjoy doing the DDA’S and making Memes and Gifs. If I had to […]

“Well, If I Don’t See You…” {Self-Assessment Narrative}

As I look back over the semester, I am proud of myself. Back in January, I walked into a class that I had no knowledge of and frankly, had no idea what I was getting myself into. It was like I listening to another language. In the beginning, I didn't think I would live up … Continue reading “Well, If I Don’t See You…” {Self-Assessment Narrative} →

I submitted a draft of my PhD discussion chapter yesterday. It’s over 7,000 words, so I won’t post it all here! I can never remember the actual title of my thesis – but I am looking broadly about how peer interaction helps to support learning, and I am using CLMOOC (and a bit of DS106) to think about the question. My draft thesis statement at the moment is this: CLMOOC is best conceptualised as being an affinity space, or affinity […]
