Earth Day 2026
Today is Earth Day, and today’s TDC asks us how we are going to celebrate it. I’ve been weeding and pruning our back garden this week, so today I will get out and clear the weeds from in and around our little garden pond. Digital Storyteller’s Kit
Camera flickr photo by NomadWarMachine shared under a Creative Commons (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license Today’s TDC asks us to say what’s in our digital story teller’s kit, so here’s mine: GIMP, for serious photo editing Giphy for quick gifs (add stickers to a photo for quick effect) Lunapic, for a whole range of filters and effects PPT, for a quick way of adding text to an image (I get this free through work, other slide packages would work just as […]

Unicorns
Unicorn flickr photo by NomadWarMachine shared under a Creative Commons (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license Today’s TCC has an image of the unicorn from the Lion and Unicorn staircase at UofG (no surprise, as I set this TDC). As ever, I have this poem in my head: The lion and the unicorn Were fighting for the crown The lion beat the unicorn All around the town. Some gave them white bread, And some gave them brown; Some gave them plum cake […]

Booking Bands
Today’s TDC asks us to mash up a book and a band. After some deliberation I settled on “of mice and men at work” (from Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men” and the bank “Men at Work”. I then headed over to Night Cafe and asked: An image for a book cover called ‘of mice and men at work’. It should have features of the ‘men at work’ album covers The image it generated was great, but of course the caption […]

Poem Portrait
For todays TDC I headed over to Google’s Poem Portraits, as the prompt suggested, and gave it the work breakfast. I let it take my photo while it generated this poem. Our breakfast stems were drowned with the stars, My fancy wastes the sun. The fire is formed. poem-portrait flickr photo by NomadWarMachine shared under a Creative Commons (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license
