This is it.The sun has set on my time as a Net Narr student.I am hanging up my virtual jersey in the digital hall of virtual players. And since my favorite retired player is Michael Jordan it is only right that use his jersey for this symbolic to borrow number twenty-three.via GIPHYAnd I must admit. This has been a journey like no other. I have yet to take a class that has pushed me. Challenged me and forced me all […]
This week I got to experience Bots 2.0 meaning, I got a second go 'round with the whole bot experience. And I must say that this time was much better, well, that is not exactly true. This time I was more comfortable with the entire experience. Plus Alan gave us a specific direction for this year's bot activity. In my Twitter DM I found the following message: Your #netnarr botversarion position to promote is we need to be better at […]
It was cool to play games and talk about gaming in class last week. I actually thought about letting my students play some of the games and asking them to think about games and the impact it has on their life. I never thought about games being used to give people empathy. Or rather to make them more empathetic. But I suppose games of this nature could have the same effect on people as they think that violent games have […]
Played on NintendoPlayed on Super NintendoIf I could lock myself in a room and play video games, these would be the games I'd play until I couldn't play it any more.Donkey Kong Country and Tetris would also make the cut. I will need something else to play once I save the princess. When I think about playing video games I'm immediately transported to my childhood. I was born in the […]
Photo: GoogleI, like most of the country is totally obsessed with all things Black Panther right now. I've seen the movie at least three times now. After watching it this last time I thought about this week's class and the GIFs we made. Now I made GIFs last year. It was truly basic though. And I don't think I made one with a moving image. I know I use them. I am the Queen of GIFs. My new favorite one […]
I can't even lie, when I first heard that we were going to be talking about selfies in class this week as a part of digital art, the very first thing I thought about was this song...Now, I may or I may not have been in a bar when this was playing and ordering another round of shots. I don't exactly recall. Anyway, after I sung the chorus of this song a few times I checked out Kellie's blog and […]
I LOVE Beyonce! And I am even more excited that I get to use Beyonce in this blog post! This is actually one of my favorite memes. Now, I made this one but there is a picture of a meme in my class that says, "If you want a grade then you shoulda put your name on it." I actually have a bulletin board full of different meme sayings. I don't know why I didn't think of it before now. Okay, I […]
Looking Way Back...Too bad we didn't go that far back. If we had, then that whole State of the Union debacle wouldn't have even happened. Anyway, where I'm sitting at my desk, last Tuesday really does seem so very far away. I almost feel like I have to time travel there. Okay, maybe I am exaggerating but, well, the passing of a week can sometimes feel like an eternity. Anyway, as I sit here with my coffee and my thoughts, […]
The World Is At My Finger Tips & I At Theirs...Meme Created by Stephanie Jones This week made things feel real. This was the first official week back as an active participant in the #NetNarr class. And I must say that I am scared all over again ( I am secretly glad that Alan caved and allowed us to have a list. The way my life is set up I need it.) There are aspects of this journey that feel familiar […]
Last May when we closed out Spring 2017's semester I thought I had taken my last ride on the NetNarr roller coaster. Now, I'm not saying this because I hated NetNarr. It is quite the opposite actually. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride last year. It was bumpy and unpredictable but overall I learned a lot.I must admit that I missed doing the Daily Digital Alchemy #DDA. So much so that I have yet to do one this year-- it is […]
This has been quite the experience. And I have actually spent many days looking at my computer screen just like this. I wanted to so much and try so many things but I spent a lot time actually looking like this girl. When I registered for this class I actually thought I signed up for E-Lit or Digital Storytelling. I am not quite sure why I was unaware of what I signed up for. Well, I kind of do. I knew I […]
Dear XeZenobia,Your letter has said all of the things that I have wanted to say but I was afraid to act upon or say. It was nice to have your voice and your wisdom. Or should I say fearlessness and willingness to say exactly what was on your mind no matter what. I miss being able to do that. Now more so than ever I am very aware of my words and the the impact they leave on the people […]
I am being held hostage. Kind of like Wanda from Fairly Oddparents but I don't have access to a magic wand.Something happened this week and now my words are not my words. My thoughts seem to be all out of sorts. Things are being tweeted out that I would never say. Ever since I took a trip down the rabbit hole and took a trip to the mirror world. I am no longer myself. Or rather I'm myself and now I […]
If you Google Kean University Wilkins Theater this is what you'll see. Please notice the seasoned people sitting on the benches and waiting outside. To the outside world this does not look like a place where a 20-30 something, hell even a 40 something person would see a show that they wanted to see. Well let me tell you, that is so not the case. This place is not what it appears to be.On the Storied Campus page I shared […]
via GIPHYThis was a good week. I found myself actually doing this dance a few times. Home was good. Work was good and school was good. All of those things happening at the same time is almost impossible. But the universe was working in my favor.NetNarr class is always enjoyable. I swear I'm not just saying this because I'm blogging for this class. This is a fact. So, this particular really favorable almost epic, no endearing, enlightening. Yes this class […]
