Snow Day Update

I am hope you all enjoyed a day off, and that the snow hasn’t created too much difficulty for you. It seems this winter has been the real thing, and I am glad we had a chance to slow down a bit. Next week I have been looking at our schedule, and for next week, we will proceed with the original plan.  For next Thursday Feb. 25, Jessie will present on Autumm Caines’ The Zoom Gaze. IEH and Trauma-Informed Pedagogy

Thanks to Amber for trailblazing some important considerations as we continue to think about digital citizenship and education in the age of pandemic, and as we dream of a post-pandemic university that is transformed. Here are the agenda slides from our discussion on 2/11/21. Body (in teaching and learning) "Turning people into less then whole humans isn’t just an online problem or a problem of the pandemic. …(The) body isn’t a new theory and neither is the way dehumanizing is […]

The Caring Gap!

Trailblazing forward! What a great way to kick off our pathfinder series with Ryan trail-blazing a critical topic for us as we took a deeper dive into the question of labour and care in teaching and learning. Thank you to Ryan for taking us to this complex and challenging place right “out the gate”. Here are the slides for our class agenda last week. It is a testament to @RyanMarlowe6 that he chose 2 center CARE as our inaugural #netnarr […]

Each selection you made will open up certain critical/urgent questions. the material will help point us towards collective reflections on the pandemic, and future of education as we dream of a post-pandemic context for learning. Pathfinding Please remember, being the “pathfinder-of-the-week” means […]

Launching our experiment!

Here is just a quick note this week to mention that it was “food for my soul” to see you all on Thursday evening, and to launch this 5th iteration of the collaboratory that has come to be known as #netnarr. You had a brief chance to catch up, and we made some new introductions as well. Prof. Levine & I welcome you to put on your creative thinking caps, and walk through the door of our “always open” lab. Welcome to “Net Mirror: The Post Pandemic University”

Welcome to the 5th edition of this experimental, exploratory and inventive course! At the onset of our time together I want to quote the formidable Nina Simone and say to you all that “it’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, and I am feeling good.” I share here the words of Amanda Gorman, whose call for hope, unity and resilience in a time of division, is just the right invocation for the #netnarr, 5th edition: There is change in […]

Week 10: Frayed

This week unraveled a bit. Chaos overtook order. Things are being righted. Courses corrected. Actions taken. Kean University students got an email on lieu of a blog post; but for the record, this is what they did this week. Bus Tour 4: Cairo, Egypt Our last stop in our “Bus Tour” will be was Thursday morning where we met with a class at American University Cairo taught by Maha Bali. We asked at both AUC and Kean University to think […]
